Boat-repair-equipment courses
The Marine Electrical School offers three levels of education and training on boat-repair-equipment. Course structures go from the basic Certificate level on pleasure vessels through to commercial shipping and offshore oil industry
CERTIFICATE IN MARINE ELECTRICAL AND ELECTRONICS
This course is specifically designed for all those using, installing, repairing and commissioning sailing and motorboats. The average boat now has many complex systems installed and it is important to understand how they should be installed, maintained and operated properly. It is also important to understand basic troubleshooting and how to diagnose faults.
Electrical systems must always be considered in context with the system they power. The development of overall systems knowledge and how each component interacts and supports as well as the correct use of boat-repair-equipment is an important factor within this course.
The modules are as follows:
Module 101 - Batteries and Charging Systems, Basic Electrical Theory
Module 102 - Boat Wiring Systems
Module 103 - Engines, Electrical and Control Systems
Module 104 - Corrosion and Lightning Protection
Module 105 - DC Equipment and Lighting Systems
Module 106 - Marine Electronics
Module 107 - Communications and GMDSS
Module 108 - Water, Sewage and Pumping Systems
Module 109 - Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Systems
Module 110 - Generators, Inverters and AC Power Systems

ADVANCED CERTIFICATE in MARINE ELECTRICAL and ELECTRONICS
The Advanced Certificate is specifically for those planning to work on commercial shipping or work on oil-rig-jobs and want to develop basic knowledge and work skills. Modern commercial vessels are very complex, with electrical and electronics systems being critical to economic and safe performance. The proper management of ship’s electrical and electronic systems also requires a sound understanding of marine engineering systems with good fault diagnosis and troubleshooting skills. The advanced certificate provides grounding in similar offshore systems for those seeking offshore oil-rig-jobs. boat-repair-equipment

DIPLOMA in MARINE ELECTRICAL and ELECTRONICS ENGINEERING
The Diploma is for electrical tradesmen, technicians and engineers planning a career or transfer into the offshore oil industry and who wish to further develop their ship skill sets to the highest level. The offshore oil rig or oil installation is very complex, and electrical and electronics are crucial reliable, efficient, safe and economic performance. The management of rig electrical and electronics systems requires good mechanical and marine engineering systems knowledge along with highly developed troubleshooting and fault resolution skills under strong commercial and safety pressures, where day rates are high and downtime costs are significant. If you are planning offshore oil-rig-jobs then start here. boat-repair-equipment
